Well my instinct was right, he came 3 weeks early. On Monday September 9 at 3:30 am I started to get contractions. My husband was on call that night so I decided to call him and inform him that they were painful and I didn't know what to do. He told me that it was nothing and I should just go to sleep. About an hour later I had my "show" and I knew something was about to go down. So I call my husband again, by this time he thinks I am crazy! I ignore him and go on to tell him about my show and that my contractions are so close together. He then tells me if we go to the hospital they will probably send me home. I then decide to ignore him and go ahead and call labor and delivery. They tell me I should come in. So I call John again and tell him that I am going up to labor and delivery and he can meet me there but I am going! So I get in the car and drive myself up to the hospital. I meet John at labor and delivery, they take us back to get looked at. Sure enough I was having contractions the only bad news was that I was on 1cm dilated. Since I had an appt with my Dr (we were going to schedule a c-section, due to Austin being breeched) that day at 1:30 they told us to come back to that, but if anything changed to come back. So we head home and my contractions just get worse and worse. So around 11:30 am I get a really bad contraction that my water ends up breaking! John ends up calling labor and delivery and they tell us to come back up ASAP. So we get in the car and head back to the hospital. They take us back and tell us that we will be going in for our c-section. At this point everything is just going so fast that the next thing I know they are FINALLY giving me my epidural and prepping me for my c-section. Austin was born September 9 at 1:27pm 5.15 lbs and 18 inches long. He was a tough one to get out due to him already almost coming out!!! I am just so glad he is here and thank God for taking care of us during delivery! Now onto our next adventure, motherhood!
XOXO,
Marcela
